During this year of the grant, a new Geology student, Chris Ulibarri, joined the program and conducted research at his own field site. He was supported by returning student Luke Romero, who continued work at Krásný vrch. This collaboration allowed both students to further develop their fieldwork skills while contributing to ongoing research.
The cultural component of this year’s trip included visits to sites throughout the Czech Republic and Wrocław, Poland. These locations provided insight into the region’s history, architecture, and artistic traditions. The following photos highlight a selection of these cultural and historic sites.
This year’s cultural experiences were shaped by both new and returning students. While new participants engaged with the region for the first time, returning students built on their previous experiences. An important addition to this year’s trip was Fine Arts student Monique Nevarez, whose work was influenced by visits to cultural sites throughout the Czech Republic and in Wrocław, Poland. These experiences informed her artistic practice, allowing her to draw inspiration from the region’s history, architecture, and visual traditions
