NMHU Geology

It's been said that the best geologists have seen the most rocks and in order to it's essential to get out of the classroom every once in a while. The Geology Department at New Mexico Highlands University is invested in creating unique field opportunities for students in the program. Throughout the year students have been able to attend multiple field trips that help them expand their knowledge of geology and the fundamentals of conducting successful field work. The program has taken its students everywhere from northern New Mexico, Colorado and multiple field sites throughout Europe. These sites are host to unique geological features. The experiences build confidence in future geologists and exposes them to multiple techniques and tools of the trait.
